Stream2Sea was founded in 2015 in Wauchula, FL after a dive trip in Palau made CEO & Founder Autumn Blum realize that the products we put on our bodies have many ingredients that could be highly toxic to our fragile aquatic ecosystem and even to us.
Today, Stream2Sea is the only mineral based sunscreen on the planet that’s been tested and proven safe for freshwater fish, saltwater fish, and coral larvae, and has passed the stringent HEL Labs Protect Land + Sea certification.

Sunscreen SPF 20 is a high performance mineral-based sunscreen which protects your body while preserving the ecosystems you love.
Our sunscreens exceed the FDA’s requirements for broad-spectrum claims. Performance-based and rigorously tested to ensure the safest possible ingredients for you, your family and our waters.
NOTE: Applying a mineral sunscreen is different from what you might be used to! Apply in sections and remember that a little goes a long way. Reapply after 80 minutes of swimming, sweating or immediately after towel drying and at least every two hours.
Safe For You and Safe For Our Waters
What does tested & proven safe means for our bodies, waters and coral reefs?
Just because the front of the bottle might say it is reef safe does not mean that it is. That is because these terms are not yet regulated. You still need to look at the back, starting with the active ingredients listing. We have also discovered that just because a product is safe for people does not mean it’s safe in an aquatic ecosystem. Modern science has given us many lab tests to determine the safety of cosmetics, but there are currently few scientific lab tests to see if products are harmful to fish, coral and other aquatic life. We put Stream2Sea products through numerous studies to prove our safety, and believe that our products are the safest on the market for all your water, reef and outdoor activities.
I have to be careful I have it well blended or I...More
I have to be careful I have it well blended or I have a white trace. (I went with the non-tinted for summer when I sweat so I don't leave traces on my clothes.)
My skin is so fair and sensitive, and the sun is shining more directly since the Bahamas is closer to the equator, so this sunblock was the choice for me. It was gentle on my face and my sensitive skin never formed blemishes.
I do wish that this version (for both the face and the body) was a little stronger, because I did have to reapply so much more often than normal, and I knew the "For Body" version would irritate my skin a little bit because of the acids present (very sensitive skin). If you do have fair and/or sensitive skin this is the one for you!
We both like how long the bottle lasts and while we appear a bit white when wearing it, at least we know where we applied it already. I prefer to have a bit of a white touch instead of being burnt!
