Your gear works hard.
Now clean it without
punishing the ocean.
A concentrated, no-rinse gear wash formulated by marine biologist Autumn Blum. Removes salt, chlorine, sweat and odor-causing buildup — gently on neoprene, latex and technical fabrics, mindfully for the waterways you dive in.
What's actually destroying
your gear — and the reef
Your wetsuit, BCD, and fins represent hundreds — sometimes thousands — of dollars. Salt, chlorine, sunscreen residue and sweat don't just smell bad. Left untreated, they actively break down the materials you depend on.
Salt crystallises inside neoprene
Over time, salt buildup stiffens and cracks neoprene fibres from the inside out — shortening the lifespan of a wetsuit worth $300–$700.
Chlorine corrodes metal components
BCD buckles, regulator parts and zipper teeth are all vulnerable to chlorine corrosion. Most gear washes don't fully neutralise it.
Odor-causing bacteria grows fast
Warm, damp gear is a breeding ground. Water alone doesn't remove bacteria — and most harsh cleaners replace one problem with another.
Conventional gear washes harm aquatic ecosystems
Most gear washes use surfactants and chemicals identified as harmful to coral reefs and marine life — the same ecosystems you dove through to get your gear dirty.
Choose your size
Concentrated formula — a small amount goes a long way. Pick the size that fits your dive bag.
Water Sport Gear Wash — 2 fl. oz.
Fits any dive bag or kit. Concentrated — add 2 fl. oz. to 30 gallons of fresh water. No rinse required. Removes salt, chlorine and odor-causing buildup from wetsuits and all gear.
Water Sport Gear Wash — 16 fl. oz.
The everyday workhorse. Keep one at home, at the dive centre, or in the car after surf sessions. Same concentrated formula — this bottle goes much further than it looks.
Four steps. No rinse required.
Works on wetsuits, BCDs, regulators, fins, swimwear — any water sport gear.
Fill a tub or bucket
Add cool or lukewarm water. Hot water can damage neoprene — lukewarm is all you need.
Add gear wash
Add 2 fl. oz. to 30 gallons of fresh water — a small amount treats a full wetsuit. The concentrate works harder than it looks.
Soak & agitate gently
Let gear soak 5–15 minutes. Gently work the formula into zippers, seams and any areas with visible buildup.
Hang & dry
No rinse required. Hang gear out of direct sunlight to dry. The formula dissipates — no residue, no harm.

No-rinse. No fuss. See the formula doing its job on real gear.
Built for every piece of water sport gear
Gentle enough for delicate materials. Effective enough for serious buildup.
A formula built around
what goes into the water
Formulated by marine biologist Autumn Blum. Every ingredient evaluated for aquatic impact — not just cleaning performance.
Plant-based glycolipid surfactants
The cleaning system uses plant-based glycolipid surfactants with eucalyptus essential oil — ingredients that lift salt, chlorine and organic buildup effectively. Formulated without synthetic fragrance, parabens, or the harsh chemical surfactants found in most gear washes.
Ingredients: Water, plant-based surfactants (glycolipids), naturally derived preservative blend, chelator, pH adjuster, eucalyptus essential oil.
Formulated without aquatic toxins
No ingredients identified as harmful to coral reefs or marine life. No harsh chemical surfactants. Formulated with consideration for the waterways it will eventually reach — because it always does.
Safe on all technical materials
Neoprene, latex, technical fabrics, metal hardware — the formula is pH-balanced to be effective without accelerating the material breakdown that harsh cleaners cause.
What divers are saying
"I've been diving for 20 years and tried every gear wash out there. Most either smell toxic or barely do anything. This actually eliminates the salt funk and I don't feel guilty rinsing it out at the dive site."
"My wetsuit has lasted two extra seasons since I started using this. The no-rinse formula is a game changer when you're tired after a dive and just want to deal with your gear quickly."
"I teach dive ecology. I can't in good conscience recommend a gear wash that puts chemicals back into the reef system. Stream2Sea is the only one I'm comfortable recommending to my students."
"Divers and water sports athletes work hard for their gear, and their gear works hard for them. We built this Gear Wash to take care of both — cleaning thoroughly and eliminating even the toughest odors and buildup, while remaining mindful that what we use in and around the water flows into our environment."
You'll love it. Or we'll make it right.

Before you buy
Why no-rinse — is it actually clean after?
Yes. The concentrated formula is designed to lift and neutralise buildup without needing to be washed away. Once the gear dries, the formula dissipates completely — no residue, no film on the material. No-rinse also means you save water and reduce the amount of runoff entering waterways.
Is it safe for neoprene and latex seals?
Specifically formulated to be safe on neoprene, latex, technical fabrics and metal hardware. The pH-balanced formula cleans without accelerating the material degradation that harsh surfactants cause. It will not dry out or crack seals or delaminate glued seams.
What does "Reef-Safer" mean for a gear wash?
When you rinse gear — even with no-rinse formulas that dissipate — residue eventually reaches waterways. Stream2Sea was founded by marine biologist Autumn Blum, who evaluates every ingredient against aquatic toxicity data. "Reef-Safer" means the formula contains no ingredients identified as harmful to coral reefs or marine life — not just a label, but a standard we test against.
How much do I need per wash?
Very little. The concentrated formula means a single cap-full (roughly 15–20ml) treats a full wetsuit in a bucket of water. The 16oz bottle gives you approximately 80+ washes. Don't be fooled by the small amount — concentrated formulas clean more efficiently than diluted ones.
Can I use it on my BCD, regulator and fins too?
Yes — safe and effective on wetsuits, BCDs, regulators, fins, masks, snorkels, dive computers, swimwear, surf gear, paddling equipment, and any technical fabric exposed to salt water, chlorine or UV. One bottle for your whole kit.
How does it compare to just rinsing with fresh water?
Fresh water removes surface salt but does not neutralise chlorine, break down sunscreen residue, or eliminate odor-causing bacteria. These are the three primary causes of material breakdown and persistent gear odor. The Gear Wash is specifically formulated to address all three, which fresh water alone cannot do.
Does it have a scent?
Yes — a light eucalyptus scent from the eucalyptus essential oil in the formula. It's subtle, not perfumed. Once gear dries, the scent dissipates. If you need completely fragrance-free, reach out to the team at hello@stream2sea.com.
Can I use it to hand-wash swimwear and technical fabrics?
Yes. The formula is gentle enough for swimwear, rashguards, wetsuits and technical sport fabrics. Because it's concentrated, dilute well — 2 fl. oz. per 30 gallons for a soak, or a few drops in a hand basin for smaller items like swimwear. No rinse needed.
Protect your gear.
Protect what's beneath it.
One bottle. Works on everything you dive, paddle, swim or surf in. Formulated by a marine biologist who understands what clean really means.
