Why Elkhorn Coral

Elkhorn coral once built entire reef structures across the Florida Keys. It grew fast, branched wide, and gave fish, lobster, and countless other species a place to live. Today it's critically endangered. Disease and warming water have wiped out most of what used to be there.

How Restoration Works

Reef Renewal USA grows coral fragments on offshore nursery lines, then outplants them directly onto damaged reef sites once they're strong enough to survive. A full tree of elkhorn coral takes real time, real labor, and real funding to establish. $1,000 plants one. Our goal is to support as many coral outplantings as we can, with your help!
