AS ANGLERS, WE ALL KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF PROTECTING OUR WATERS AND MARINE LIFE

Biodegradable in Fresh & Salt Water

Approximately 14,000 tons of sunscreen containing damaging ingredients enter our coastal waters annually? These chemicals not only harm marine ecosystems, but they also pose a threat to the fish we love to catch. Stream2Sea SPF 40 is a mineral-based sunscreen that is scientifically proven to be safe for both saltwater and freshwater fish so you no longer have to worry about killing your live bait or harming released fish.

How Does Sunscreen Affect LIVE bait?

1. Exposure to Chemical-based Sunscreen

Handling LIVE bait after applying a chemical-based sunscreen can remove the protective coating on fish scales leading to an increased chance of mortality for the fish. In addition, exposure to oxybenzone as an main ingredient will expose the bait well water to chemicals.

2. Water Quality & Swimming Behavior

Stream2Sea is tested and proven safe for baitfish. These test results show that swimming behavior with Stream2Sea sunscreen is relatively unaffected. We are the only mineral-sunscreen with Protect Land + Sea Certification.

3. Disorientation and/or Bait Kill

Studies have shown competitor sunscreens alter the LIVE bait swimming behavior. Baits were sluggish and not responsive to the environment. Some baits died after exposure to the chemical-based sunscreens.

Terrific Product

Stream to Sea products are the only ones I will use when traveling to warmer climates and when snorkeling. The SPF 40 Sport Sunscreen Zinc Balm never melted in the heat and provided great sun protection without the bright white zinc look. A keeper for sure.

Excellent value

I used this while scuba diving as I needed a reef safe sunblock. Very effective. Comes in a cute tin (that easily fits in a pocket) with a wooden spatula for applying. I used it for a week and hardly put a dent in it. Highly recommend!

I recommend based on safety and EWG approved.

We bought this because it was on the list from the Environmental Working Group as being safe to use and made without any toxins or harmful chemicals. It works well and protects the skin. I highly recommend. You have to rub it in. But it does rub on. We use it on ourselves and our kid.

Reef safe option

I liked that it worked for travel since it is solid and doesn’t spill. Easy to warm in your hands and apply. As others have said, may take longer to apply if you’re going for a large surface area, because the going is slow! Worked for me for neck and arms. It did feel greasy on my face.
