Shark livers contain an oil, known as ‘squalene’, that is highly regarded for its moisturizing and restorative properties.
As a result, it’s often found in everything from sunscreen to foundation, lipstick, tanning lotion and other similar skincare and cosmetics products. They are even used in vaccines!

Usage
Apply a few drops to face after cleansing or emerging from the water before applying your sunscreen. To add shine and reduce breakage, smooth over hair and into ends before combing. For external use only.

This product feels super light on the skin, but you can feel it locking in moisture. I use this daily with my other face cream routine for a refreshed look to my skin.
I learned about squalane after I read Stream2Sea’s blog. I couldn’t believe squalane is traditionally derived from shark liver oil. After learning this, I’ve been seeking plant derived skincare ingredients. I decided to try this product as an extra hydrating step in my skincare routine. This squalane has a serum-like consistency and no smell. I use it before applying moisturizer. I find that it makes my skin soft and supple. Perfect before I apply my moisturizer. Love that this product comes in a glass bottle and I can reuse it.

I used this for the first time last week on a trip to South Florida. I tossed it into my dry bag to use after boat dives and it was exactly what I hoped it would be. Not only did it moisturize my face after long dives in salt water, it felt great on my hands and helped keep my nails from peeling. A little goes a long way, too. One pump was enough for my face, neck, and hands. Highly recommended!
